When I first heard about donuts being used to explain social media, I decided much research needed to be done on the subject, especially when the "Hot Donuts Now" sign was beaming its sweet, sweet light. Actually, Three Ships Media, a digital marketing company, started the idea of explaining the basic purpose/idea behind popular social media sites using donuts, and then others contributed to the conversation.
