May is National Bike Month, and the week of 13-17 May is Bike to Work Week. If you have been toying with the idea of bike commuting, why not give it a try this week? On Friday the 17th, riders will be meeting at the State House steps at 8:00AM for a ride down Main St.

In 1920, the Jefferson Hotel hired 19-year-old John Bassard for a bellboy position. Over time, Bassard became the Bell Captain and stayed with the Jefferson until it was demolished in 1968.
