In Pat Conroy's The Great Santini, the abusive behavior of Bull Meecham -- the Marine Corps fighter pilot based on Conroy's own father -- hints at traumatic stress-based issues resulting from years of carrying out military missions.

Counselor Jennifer Miller -- former Army reservist and combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom/Desert Shield -- will lead this One Book, One Columbia program about post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
