Fire!  1871 - Four major fires break out on the shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago, Peshtigo, Wisconsin, Holland, Michigan, and Manistee, Michigan.  The other fires are greatly overshadowed by the Great Chicago Fire but the Peshtigo Fire was much deadlier.
