The world changed in October of 1879. Thomas Edison produced the first long-burning incandescent light bulb. Lighting before his invention was a risky proposition exposing people to the possibility of fire from fallen candles and exploding gas lamps.

     1863 - President Abraham Lincoln declares that the last Thursday in November will be recognized as Thanksgiving Day along with Thursdays, November 30, 1865 and November 29, 1866. - Wait it isn't even Halloween yet.
