Librarian Charletta Felder Assists a Customer in the Business and Job Center

Happy 3rd Anniversary, Business and Job Center!

As we approach our 3rd anniversary on June 15, staff at Richland Library's Business and Job Center are celebrating our Success Stories and the privilege of developing and enhancing the growth of the center as a community resource for job seekers, small business owners and workforce partners.

The Business and Job Center is making a difference, one-job seeker at a time. Located on the 3rd level at Main, the center offers a variety of career services and resources for all individuals seeking employment. We have highly trained Librarians and Career Coaches working together to help customers through the various aspects of job searching and career planning.

Since June 2010, the Richland Library's Business and Job Center has helped to combat South Carolina's unemployment rate by completing more than 32,500 job-related transactions with customers.

We often receive Success Stories feedback from our customers who want to share good news about a job offer or thank us for our assistance. Customer comments include:

"Helped me understand/find my true interests…showed me new resources…gave encouragement, motivation and excitement about my future…created a path for my success." --Farran

"The Richland Library Business and Job Center was very helpful. I especially appreciated (the) help creating a résumé and with the interview coach. It got me prepared for the questions in the interview. The staff was very helpful and very nice…I got the job!" --Ellen
