WorkKeys® and Your Job Search
Taking the WorkKeys® job skills assessment is an important first step for you as you begin the job search process. WorkKeys® scores help you compare your skills to the skills employers require and that contribute to job success. WorkKeys® test questions are based on situations in the everyday work world. Employers across the country are requiring the WorkKeys® assessments or recommending the National Career Readiness Certificate. The assessment is designed to match prospective employees to jobs and careers.
To earn the nationally recognized Career Readiness Certificate, you must score at least a 3 on each of the following tests:
Reading for Information
A job seeker can receive a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum certificate level based upon their scores. A WorkKeys® certification card that lists your scores will immediately describe your level of skills to an employer when you interview or apply for work. Your WorkKeys® scores will be valid for a period of five years.
Can you prepare for the WorkKeys® assessment? Although it is not required, you can visit a SCWorks Workforce Center, technical college or other location where Keytrain or WIN tutorials (self-paced, self-directed computer programs) are available for free and you can practice.
