Inform Yourself - Medical and Health Literacy
We have more access to information today than in any other time in history. But how do we separate the fact from fiction? The word of experts from hearsay? Join Richland Library Main on Tuesday, May 23 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in the theater for a presentation from Shelli Quenga of Palmetto Project. This informative session will offer practical tips for healthcare consumers on where to get trusted healthcare information in today's information overload society. You'll learn how to get accurate information to be the healthiest you, while also minding your healthcare dollar.
About the presenter: Shelli Quenga oversees advocacy and programming for South Carolina nonprofit organization Palmetto Project, including 51 ACA-certified health insurance navigators. She formerly directed a regional non-profit for children with special healthcare needs, and continues to serve as an Applied Behavioral Analysis therapist and advocate for educational, community, and medical services for children and families.
