"The way I figure it, everyone gets a miracle. Like, I will probably never be struck by lightning, or win a Nobel Prize, or become the dictator of a small nation in the Pacific Islands, or contract terminal ear cancer, or spontaneously combust. But if you consider all the unlikely things together, at least one of them will probably happen to each of us."

"Margo always loved mysteries. And in everything that came afterward, I could never stop thinking that maybe she loved mysteries so much that she became one."

-Paper Towns (2008) by John Green

The above are two of my favorite quotes from a book in recent memory. Whether you have been a fan for years or if you just discovered his work due to the recent film adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars, there’s no denying that in the world of YA lit, that there’s no author as popular as John Green. Quirky dialogue, fast-paced plotting, the ability to constantly surprise the reader, and frank, yet sensitive, explorations of real and dark topics have no doubt contributed to the wild popularity of his work.

With this in mind, please join us for our Teen Book Club, where we’ll be discussing John Green’s work, sharing our favorite book, and discussing the common threads contained within his work. All ages are welcome and light refreshments will be served! This is also an excellent opportunity to get start on a John Green track for Richland Library's Summer Learning Challenge.
