Kurosawa to Bergman: The Motorcycle Diaries

Join us at Richland Library Northeast on Tuesday, January 21 at 6:30 PM as we premiere our newest series, Kurosawa to Bergman: Films from Around the World.

Our first film, The Motorcycle Diaries takes us through Latin America in the early 1950's. Setting out in January, 1952, Ernesto Guevera and Alberto Granado traveled from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Caracas, Venezuela over a period of nine months. Although The Motorcycle Diaries starts out as a typical travel story about two young men seeking adventure, Guevera and Granado were deeply affected by their journey through Latin America. After providing medical care to lepers and observing political unrest Ernesto "Che" Guevera's experiences led him to abandon his ambitions to become a doctor and take up the helm of a revolutionary.
