Now Hiring: Be an Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship Teacher

Are you passionate about helping new entrepreneurs start their Etsy shops? You may be the perfect person to teach Craft Entrepreneurship, Etsy’s in-person program designed to help creative people in underserved communities to create pathways to entrepreneurship.

We’re looking for exceptional leaders from the local community to teach, mentor, and inspire new sellers as they build their craft business.

Craft Entrepreneurship teachers are provided with a complete curriculum, instructional materials, and training to help new entrepreneurs make smart decisions for their businesses. Craft Entrepreneurship teachers bring the Etsy curriculum to life by sharing their passion, best practices, and real-life experiences with their students.

As an instructor, you will be paid a competitive rate by Richland Library which is hosting the Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship in Columbia, SC.

Teacher Qualifications:

  • Be an Etsy Seller who is proficient at Etsy and Etsy’s tools
  • Be familiar with Etsy’s House Rules
  • Stay up-to-date with feature changes that affect the businesses on the site
  • Have experience public speaking, teaching, and/or giving presentations
  • Be patient and resourceful, as students will come with a wide range of ability, experience, and knowledge
  • Be knowledgeable and passionate about entrepreneurship
  • Be confident with technology
  • Teachers Will:

  • Teach a provided curriculum that includes slides, notes and exercises
  • Prepare for class by becoming very familiar with the curriculum and by creating notes to deliver the program in your own words
  • Share personal stories and best practices from your experiences as an Etsy seller
  • Create a collaborative, supportive, and safe learning environment for students
  • Take attendance
  • Facilitate online surveys for students
  • Etsy Will Supply:

  • PowerPoint presentations for 5 classes
  • Exercises and worksheets for each class
  • Articles to use as further information
  • Feedback surveys for students
  • Richland Library Will Supply:

  • Classrooms with computers and projection capabilities
  • Materials and equipment for photography workshop
  • A program manager from Richland Library
  • Availability:

    Teacher training: the lessons can be completed on your own, but you will be expected to meet with the program manager at least one time before the classes begin.

    Classes will be held on:

  • Monday October 1, 6-8 pm
  • Monday October 8, 6-8 pm
  • Monday October 15, 6-8 pm
  • Monday October 22, 6-8 pm
  • Saturday October 27, 2-5pm
  • Monday October 29, 6-8 pm
