SC Day of Civic Hacking

On June 1st, Richland Library will join IT-oLogy, EdVenture and the Columbia Museum of Art in the South Carolina Day of Civic Hacking.

SCDoCH is part of a national event that seeks to bring together citizens, software developers and entrepreneurs to collaboratively create digital tools that solve community challenges using publicly accessible data and code.

Richland Library will host Learn to Hack, a series of free public classes designed to help beginners tackle technology projects and empower community leaders to take advantage of local data already available online:

  • Introduction to Blogging and Web Design, 10am - 4pm **CLASS IS FULL**
  • Introduction to iOS (Apple's Mobile Operating System), 10am - 11:30am
  • Data Manipulation: Getting and Using Good Information, 12:30pm - 3:30pm
  • Hot Jobs in Information Technology, 3:30pm - 4:30pm
