Struggling Readers: A Program for Parents
I remember when my son was younger. While looking at the cereal box during breakfast, he put his head in his hands and sighed, “I wish I could read what this says!” He wanted so badly to read, but he could not seem to remember his letters and sounds from day to day.
About twenty percent of our children will have some kind of struggle with learning to read. As the parent of a dyslexic child, I understand the need to have access to information on how to help your child. I am so excited to welcome Tracey Ely, the director of Tutor Eau Claire, to the library. She will be joining us for a free and informative evening on how to help the struggling reader in your life experience success with reading and writing. Parents and all adults working with children shouldn’t miss this hands-on workshop full of literacy tips and activities!
