In the early 1920's Matilda Griffin moved to Columbia after losing 2 sons in WWI. She turned her loss into a passion advocating for the rights of African American veterans in the Capital City. While her voice is now forgotten her story can be pieced together and is remembered in this presentation from Richland Library's Walker Local and Family History Center.

Come to the library for a (virtual) fieldtrip around the world! From the top of Mt. Everest to the depths of the ocean floor, these sessions lead by IT-oLogy allow students to engage in virtual reality exploration with Google Expeditions and the Mattel View-Master VR Viewer. Google Expeditions provides access to hundreds of virtual fieldtrips, allowing children to explore natural wonders, outer space, historic events, cities, famous museums and much more. Space is limited and registration is required. Please register online. This program is provided by IT-oLogy and made possible with grant funding from Richland County Government.
