Wealth, not culpability, shapes outcomes." -- Bryan StevensonRichland Library continues the social justice conversation with a panel of local experts focusing on wrongful convictions. The program will be facilitated by Don Frierson, longtime host of WGCV’s The Urban Scene. Panelists include:Lenell Geter -- Received national attention after spending 16 months in a Texas prison for a crime he did not commit. He is the subject of a 1987 biopic, Guilty of Innocence: The Lenell Geter Story, which is available in the library's collection.Colin Miller -- In addition to being an Associate Dean and Professor of Law at USC, Mr. Miller has also played a role in the case of Adnan Syed, made famous by the podcast Serial. Currently, he is one of the hosts of the podcast Undisclosed, which this season focuses on the case of Joey Watkins in Georgia.Diana Holt -- An attorney whose well-known case appealing the conviction of Edward Lee Elmore in Greenwood, SC is featured in the book Anatomy of Injustice by Raymond Bonner, which is available at Richland Library.
