The Kid's Chess Hour is an opportunity for kids of all levels to come together and play and learn the game of chess. Kid's hour is much the same as an adult chess club - but for kids. Sam Copeland (The reigning South Carolina champion and twice South Carolina's high school champion (2002 and 2003)) or another strong chess player will always be on hand to help coach and teach the kids. Games and puzzles will be available.

You are able to bring your own phone to see if it can be activated. Create some creepy dishes that you can share with your friends! This class is for tweens and teens ages 12-18. Menu: Jack-O-Lantern Stuffed Peppers, Chocolate Cinnamon Skeleton Cookies, Blueberry Eyeball Punch. What to Expect: This class is for ages 12-18. This class will last 1 1/2 hours long. You will be standing and cooking for the majority of this class. Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back. You will get to sample the recipes you make. You will be working in groups of 4. Culinary Program Waivers must be signed by parent or guardian if child is under 13 years of age. Any questions regarding food allergies or dietary restrictions must be addressed before the start of class.

The South Carolina Citizen Review Panel and Richland Library invite grandparents, aunts, uncles and others who have assumed caregiving responsibilities for youth to participate in our Kinship Care Listening Circle. Caregivers will participate in candid discussions and share their experiences, best practices and concerns related to kinship care. Kinship care refers to the care of children by relatives or close family friends.
