  2. Help Richland Library-Donate Books!

    Want to support Richland Library?  Do you have any gently used or new books, CDs or textbooks you no longer need?  If so, please box your donations and label them “Richland Library Friends donation” then deliver the boxes(up to 5 boxes at a time) to the Richland Library location that is most convenient for you.  The Richland Library Friends will sell your donations at the upcoming Friends book sale. The Friday night sale which is open to Friends members only, is scheduled for April 19, 2013, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Memberships may be purchased at the door for as little as $25.The regular sale, which is open to the public, is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.  The proceeds from the sale will help to raise support for the Friends Summer Reading Challenge and to help support other library programs which enrich the lives of everyone in our community.   4. Start the New Year off With Good Books, Movies and More at the Friends' Book Sale

    Get the best deals in town at the Richland Library Friends' Winter Book Sale, and support the library!

    The Friends’ Winter Book Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 26 at the Richland Library Operations Center, 130 Lancewood Rd.  A preview sale for Friends’ members only will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, January 25. (Memberships, which start at only $25, are available at the door.)

    Choose from thousands of print and nonprint materials in all genres, from fiction and nonfiction to children’s books and other rare finds, for the best bargains in town.  Prices start as low as 50 cents for paperbacks and $1 for hard backs.  As an added bonus, they'll also be hosting a half price sale on Sunday, January 27 from 2-4 p.m at the Richland Library Operations Center.

    Last year, the Friends’ Book Sales raised more than $80,000 to support special programs and services not available through the library’s budget appropriation from Richland County.

    Let your voice be heard and support library programming.

    Join the Richland Library Friends.

    The Richland Library Friends is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to raising support for library programs and spearheading advocacy efforts on behalf of the library.  Since 1975, when the Junior League of Columbia, Inc. voted to provide volunteers and the necessary funds to establish a Friends group in Richland County, the organization has played an integral role in raising awareness of the library throughout the community through specifically targeted advocacy efforts and financial support for programs such as the Friends Summer Reading Challenge.  The Richland Library Friends is a membership organization and is governed by a Board of Directors elected from the membership.
