OverDrive eBooks for e-Ink Nooks
All Richland Library ebooks work on the Nook!
Over 10,000 library ebooks are available from OverDrive. Here is how it works:
Getting started with Library OverDrive ebooks on a NOOK
Using a NOOK to read books from Richland Library easy. All you have to do is check out and download an eBook, then transfer it to your NOOK using Adobe Digital Editions (ADE).
What you need
A NOOK (these directions are for NOOKS with a black-and-white screen)
The USB cable for your NOOK (not necessary for Nook Tablet or Nook Color - download the OverDrive Media Console App instead!)
Your Richland Library card number
How it works
You can use your NOOK to enjoy eBooks from your library. You'll need Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) to transfer eBooks to your device.
Note: You can also install OverDrive Media Console for Android directly onto your NOOK Color, Tablet, HD, or HD+. From there, you may want to check out 'Getting started with Android.'
Browse, check out, download
To get started, browse to an OverDrive-powered library website. To find your library, try using search.overdrive.com.
Next, check out and download an EPUB or PDF eBook using your Windows or Mac computer. The eBook will open with (ADE). From there, transfer the eBook to your eBook reader. It's a simple drag and drop from your ADE library to your device bookshelf.
Once you have transferred a library eBook, you can read it just like you would any other eBook on your NOOK.
