Can You Get Help Paying For Health Insurance?

Did you know that the government is providing financial assistance for those purchasing health insurance through healthcare.gov?

Most individuals and families will qualify for financial assistance through the Affordable Care Act. Savings will depend on income and family size.

Use the table below to see if you qualify for assistance. If your yearly income falls within the following ranges, you'll generally qualify for a premium tax credit. The lower your income is within these ranges, the bigger your credit.

$11,490 to $45,960 for individuals

$15,510 to $62,040 for a family of 2

$19,530 to $78,120 for a family of 3

$23,550 to $94,200 for a family of 4

For example a family of four with two adults and two children, making at about $35,000 per year could look forward to a government coupon to cover approximately 84% of the cost of their monthly premium. With this discount, they would spend $114 per month to cover their monthly premium costs. The Federal Government will pay the other $619 per month.
