Health Insurance Open Enrollment Periods
Affordable Care Act: Don't have a circumstance that qualifies you for a special enrollment period? The next open enrollment period under the Affordable Care Act is scheduled to begin on November 15, 2014 and go until February 15, 2015. If you already have health insurance through the Marketplace, expect several letters to come from both the Marketplace and your health insurance company in the next few weeks.
Employer Based: If you have health insurance through your employer, you should contact your Human Resources department to see when your next open enrollment period is.
Medicare: You are eligible to enroll in Medicare the 3 months before your 65th birthday, the month of your 65th birthday, and the 3 months after the month you turn 65. If you were unable to enroll in Medicare when you turned 65 please visit Medicare.gov for more information on when you can enroll.
Medicaid: You can enroll in Medicaid or CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program) at any time.
