Meet the Library's Play Freely Bus!

Richland Library is excited to introduce everyone to our new Play Freely bus. Delivered to Richland Library Main on August 5, the outreach bus will tour the Midlands stopping at community hot spots, libraries and underserved areas starting in September.

Assembled in Charleston, the bus is equipped to streamline and modernize community outreach services by:

  • Increasing the efficiency and capacity of homebound (“Books to You”) service through lobby stops and mobile programming.
  • Reaching underserved children and families where they are from Columbia Housing Authority sites to apartment complexes, food banks and more.
  • Maximizing the impact of the library’s presence at community events.
  • We can’t wait to show it to all of you in person but in the meantime, click here for a quick digital tour:
