Teen Garden Club Initiation

The St Andrews Teen Garden Club has started and has improved in every way. We now have regular attendees who have all gotten their hands dirty.

These are some things that our club members learned this month

  • A Carrot was a root
  • That a cucumber has spikes
  • You can eat all parts of a beet
  • Saw the three sisters growing together (corn, beans, squash)
  • I ate the freshest food ever
  • Flowers have eggs before they make seeds
  • A plant called Borage exists
  • I learned how to make a bean tepee out of bamboo
  • Learned what a compost pile is and does
  • We are planning a Salsa Day on July 23rd
