Xbox One: The Facts

Thinking about buying a gaming system for a loved one this holiday season? This year there are three brand new next generation consoles to choose from and selecting just one could be a bit overwhelming. Allow me to shed some light on one of these new machines: the XBOX ONE.

  • RAM: 8GB DDR3 + 32MB eSRAM embedded memory
  • Flash memory: 8GB
  • CPU: 8 Core AMD Frequency: 1.75 GHz
  • GPU Clock Speed: 853 MHz
  • Special Features:

  • Free Unlimited Cloud Storage
  • Gamertags will be ported from Xbox 360 accounts including achievements, avatar, and gamer score
  • Potentially multitasking: the ability to pause in game, browse apps, and then return to your game
  • Games download onto the console and are connected to your account
  • Remote play your games from any Xbox One console when you sign in.
  • Up to 10 family members can have accounts savedto the Xbox one
  • Kinect is more sensitive and can recognize different individuals, loading their accounts automatically.
  • Integrated Kinect voice and motion control into operation & navigation of the Xbox One
  • Developers may be able to modify the game experience over time, adding new achievements or updates
  • Other Considerations:

  • Retail price of the base system with Kinect & one controller: $500
  • Internet required for day one initial patch
  • NOT Backwards compatible with Xbox360 games: you will not be able to play Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One
  • NOT compatible with Xbox Live arcade purchases from the Xbox 360
  • Used Xbox One games will be playable
