Are you a high school student wondering where to go after graduation? With hundreds of colleges and universities out there, it’s hard to know where to begin your search.
Join us in the Teen Center on Wednesday, November 20th at 6 pm, for this engaging and hands-on experience. Dr. Jim Overton of College Consultants of South Carolina will teach teens where to go online to find college resources and what to look for to find the perfect school. Light refreshments will be served and wireless internet is available for those with laptops.
There's been a lot of recent attention on homelessness in Columbia, primarily focused on the visible adult homeless population, and concerns about the effects of homelessness on our downtown economy. But the heated debates, and the currently available community resources, haven't really addressed one huge part of the issue: homeless youth.
On Sunday, November 17th, come learn the facts about youth homelessness and help us brainstorm what we can do to help our homeless youth find stability and a bright future.
