Sew Divine at St. Andrews is donating almost 200 items to SisterCare!
Sew Divine at St. Andrews is quickly becoming known as the place to go if you love the textile arts but also want to have an impact on your community. This month, Sew Divine was excited to donate nearly 200 hats, scarves, gloves, and more to SisterCare, a nonprofit in the midlands that provides services to and advocates for domestic violence survivors and their children.
As they did for their last donation, Sew Divine focused on creating practical items that were also beautiful and unique—items that they themselves would like to use and wear. No two items are the same. Each one is a different pattern, size, or color scheme. Also included in the donation are 50 stuffed animals, most of which have crocheted or knitted clothing and hats. Sew Divine hopes that these will be good surprises for the holidays!
Sew Divine is already starting on their next service project, making blankets and shawls for dialysis patients in Columbia.
St. Andrews Sew Divine meets every Thursday at 10:00 am. For Sew Divine groups at other Richland Library locations, check out this link!
