Ready to take a break from studying with something creative and easy?
These yarn wrapped letters are the perfect escape! Easily customizable and made with materials you may already have, yarn wrapped letters are a quick and easy craft.
Step 1:
Gather your supplies!
- Scrap cardboard (look through the recycling – an old pizza box works perfectly)
- Scissors or exacto knife
- Yarn (You can also use ribbon and baker’s twine)
- Tape
- Glue (I used a hot glue gun but any glue will work)
Step 2:
Start by tracing a letter on the scrap cardboard. I did this free hand but printing a letter and tracing it will also work! Use your scissors or exacto knife to carefully cut the letter out. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect! You’re going to cover any flaws up with the yarn.
Step 3:
Cut a long piece of yarn and start by attaching it to the edge and on the back of the letter. I secured it with hot glue but any kind of glue or tape will work.
Step 4:
Begin wrapping the yarn around the letter starting from the edge. When finished with that piece, tape or glue the end to the back.
Step 5:
Choose another piece of yarn in a different color and repeat!
That’s all there is to it! This is also easy to put down and come back to during study breaks or whenever you need to relax with a fun project.
