Need some low budget holiday gift ideas? All the DIY gifts in the "Handmade Gifts for the Holidays" series can be made with supplies costing $10 or less!

Polymer Clay Earrings

Supplies Needed:

2oz of Sculpey Premo Polymer Clay

Small Cookie Cutter in your desired earring shape***

Kidney wires

Rolling Pin***

Step 1:

Knead your clay to make it soft and pliable enough to work with (this is called conditioning). Then, flatten the clay with your rolling pin, to the thickness of your choice. Mine is about 1/8 of an inch thick.

Step 2:

Use your cookie cutter to cut the clay into your desired earring shape and remove the excess clay.

Step 3:

Use a toothpick, or the pointy piece of the kidney hoops, to make a hole for hanging your earrings. This is where the kidney hoops will go later.

Step 4:

Bake the clay according to the package instructions. (Most say to bake at 275F for 15minutes and allow clay to cool down in the oven.) After the clay is cooled, thread the kidney loops through the holes you made earlier.

Step 2:

Use the bottom of the muffin pan for structure and sculpt the trinket bowl to your liking. Leave it in place and bake according to the package instructions. (Most say to bake at 275F for 15minutes and allow clay to cool down in the oven.)

You can go for a standard round shape, or try something more creative and abstract!
