This monthly artist spotlight series was created to highlight artists in the community who have been impacted by racial, gender, and socio-economic inequities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meet AHOMARI:

Pronouns: They/Them

Bio: Ahomari is a Queer, Black musician from the south throwing colors at the wall until it becomes something new. They were born and raised in Columbia, SC. Praised and fought in Columbia as well. From loud-mouth local to quiet introvert, Ahomari represents music from the future and present.

Pandemic Thoughts: "I think the one thing that hasn't changed is being alone. I enjoy being alone. It gives me time to think about my life and how I can improve it. With aspects of my health on a decline I feel like a new person with new parts. Mostly parts made from scraps."

Each month, the community is given the opportunity to support and connect with different creatives and enjoy the amazing talent Columbia has to offer!

To learn more or to hear Ahomari's music, check them out on Bandcamp, or find them on Instagram @Ahomari.
