A long time ago (1978 to be exact) Disco music was king.
A local tv channel WIS (which stands for "Wonderful Iodine State") started a show called DANCE! The show was recorded out of their Bull Street studios in Columbia.
Dance, was a weekly show which followed "Saturday Night Live." It consisted of a host (Wes Clark, Mark Sherman and Mike Goldman all hosted at one point), live dance audience and performances by popular performers of the day.
Among its many live performers were Gloria Gaynor, Leo Sayer, Roy Ayers and Evelyn "Champagne" King, whose first television debut was on Dance.
It aired from September 16, 1978 till December 22, 1979. It was produced & directed by Steven F. Griggs.
