How to Create a Brand Introduction

You only have a few seconds to make a brand introduction.

People’s attention span is getting shorter and shorter because of social media. It is important to understand how to create an elevator pitch or brand introduction that is short and to the point.

An elevator pitch is a persuasive speech that you use to create interest in a project, idea, or product. Whether you are creating an elevator pitch or brand introduction, there are a few things to keep in mind.

  • Keep it 20-30 seconds.
  • Make sure it is interesting, memorable, and succinct.
  • Experts suggest keeping the introduction to about 75 words.
  • Create several different options for various scenarios.

The best way to start crafting your brand introduction is to brain dump. Write down all that comes to mind about your brand. Then start the elimination process by getting rid of jargon, unnecessary details, and words. Your sentences should be short, and powerful. This is key for many business owners who have the tendency to over explain. Forget the cute, flowery language and keep it short, to the point. Every word counts. As Albert Einstein once said, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”

I love formulas and created one to make it easier for you to create your signature brand introduction. What you will do is fill in the blanks with the appropriate information for your business or services.

I am a (WHO ARE YOU) (HELP/SUPPORT) (pick one) (WHO YOU ARE FOR) TO (TRANSFORMATION) SO THEY CAN (DELIVERABLE). We do this using or (METHOD) via (COACHING, PRODUCTS OR SERVICES).

My example:

I am a video visibility coach and producer helping women-led brands create visibility with live video confidently, so they can be seen, heard and paid. We do this using my 20 years of experience in television and our Visibility is Power method, through our coaching and courses.

Now it’s your turn. Remember what makes a great introduction goes back to the confidence in which you share it. Your brand is worth being known.
