High-brow fashion and book covers make for an unexpectedly pleasing combination!

Awards season happens early every year, and the actors and A-Listers of Hollywood – with assistance from their teams of designers, stylists, make-up artists, and more – get dolled up to attend the awards shows. Their red-carpet outfits often highlight the latest trends in fashion, and the awards shows can be exciting to watch. Who will be named to the best-dressed lists? What will be the major takeaways from each awards show? Who will win the coveted prizes?

The Oscars are the height of film awards season. The Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild (SAG), and NAACP Image trophies – among many others - have already been handed out, but the Academy Awards, where the coveted Oscar statuettes are given, are considered by many to be the ultimate recognition of artistry, skill, and talent.

Whether or not you are interested in fashion, the glamor, glitz, and drama of the Academy Awards ceremony dominate the news for weeks after the event itself. Who took home the Oscar? Who had the best outfit?

Here, we have matched up this year's Oscar looks with some of our favorite new titles. You may not be able to judge a book by its cover – or a Hollywood notable by their outfit – but you can always wonder if any trendsetters took cues from a favorite new novel in the careful crafting of their Oscar couture.
