Children are born ready to learn words. Reading alphabet books can increase your child’s knowledge of letters and language. Alphabet books are simple by design so that you and your child have a chance to focus and play with letters and language. Play with the words—did you know that cat rhymes with bat? Point out the shape of letters and trace them together while making the sound. As an added bonus, ABC Spanish shares the alphabet in both English and Spanish. If you have a precocious preschooler, dig into some of the more complex alphabet books.
