Tween Reading & Writing Club: Let's Talk Race Edition
Friday, November 6, 2020 5:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
Hey Parents! Ready to engage with your Tween?
Join Richland Library’s Let’s Talk Race team for a special edition of the Tween Reading & Writing Club (TR&WC), which will run from Friday, October 16 to Friday, November 6.
This session we’ll be reading Thanhha Lai’s, Inside Out & Back Again – National Book Award winner and a Newbery Honor Book. On Friday, October 16 check out a copy of the eBook OR the eAudiobook (with no holds) via Hoopla.
Conversation prompts and activities will be posted to Richland Library’s TR&WC Facebook Group throughout the session and will encourage family discussions about race and equity. A final group meeting will allow tweens and caregivers to engage with each other in real time.
Tweens and their families are encouraged to join Let’s Talk Race team members Heather McCue, Jocelyn Pettigrew, and Taelor Johnson along with Collection Development librarians Jess Bingham and Amanda Chapman by registering for this online program, below.
Parents, you can find more information and reviews about this title using our database NoveList found on our website, here.
*Inside Out & Back Again is available via our Hoopla service for simultaneous digital use so we can all #readfreely together. You can also check out a physical copy, here.
