The International Book Club meets once a month. Each month we focus on a different book written by an international author or a story that takes place abroad. This month we will read “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles.
In 1922, Count Alexander Rostov, an aristocrat is sentenced by a Bolshevik tribunal. He had to live in ‘house arrest’ in the Metropol, a grand hotel until the end of his life. He met with interesting people. During this time, Russia’s politics had changed outside the hotel’s doors. He met with a lady, Anna, and that changed his life slowly. More than 2 million people read this book that brought humor and great characters to life. Alexander Rostov understood what he had to do to be happy with himself.
