The International Book Club meets once a month. Each month we focus on a different book written by an international author or a story that takes place abroad. This month we will read “Lab Girl” by Hope Jahren.
This National Best Seller book is about work and love. She wrote captivated stories about her childhood in Minnesota with an uncompromising mother and her father who let her stay in his labs. She found happiness in science, and learned about lab work.
Hope Jahren the author named one of TIME magazine's "100 Most Influential People" in 2016.
He met a brilliant man Bill. Their adventures in science take them to the North Pole and to tropical Hawaii. She built three laboratories.
The book demonstrates of what can happen when you find the stamina, passion, and sense of sacrifice. She found the way to be a person who she wanted to be.
