In Bloom: An Ikebana Demonstration
Sunday, May 8, 2022 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
In collaboration with Richland Library's special exhibit In Bloom, which celebrates the beauty of Spring in all its colors and wonder, Ikebana artist Lin Ko will be in the Gallery at Main creating Ikebana arrangments to be displayed throughout the gallery in May. Lin will be demonstrating the art of creating these beautiful floral pieces.
Lin Ko immigrated from Taiwan to USA in 1984. She has a MA degree in Chinese Literature from National Taiwan University (1973) as well as a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of South Carolina (1992). Lin already had 13 years of teaching and research experience in international and domestic universities before starting her library career with Richland Library in 1991. She has retired from Richland Library as a branch manager since 2013.
She is a certified Sogetsu instructor, has been very active in practicing and promoting Ikebana art since 1998. She is a former President of Ikebana International chapter 182 of Columbia. Moreover, she is now an active member of North & Central America Regional (NCAR) Ikebana International Sensei Committee.
Lin teaches Ikebana in person and online.
