Gentle Yoga for Adults. Learn with seasoned instructor Jessica Barnes Smith on how to combine slow stretches and controlled breathing for relaxation and staying calm, helping to strengthen the mind-body connection. Followed by a comforting snack.
Jessica Barnes Smith, E-RYT 500, YACEP, iRest Level 2, NASM-CPT, is a seasoned yoga instructor and artist with a Bachelor of Fine Art from Winthrop University.
She currently shares the transformative power of yoga with diverse communities throughout the city, offering a variety of classes including specialty classes for children, chair yoga classes for seniors, mindful resilience yoga for veterans, and adaptive yoga for people living with a disability. With advanced studies in children’s yoga and adaptive yoga, Jessica is uniquely qualified to tailor her classes to meet the needs of individuals of all ages and abilities. In addition to her yoga practice, Jessica inspires young minds as an art teacher at The Montessori School of Columbia.
Jessica’s personal yoga journey began in 2000 as a means of healing from a car accident. Through consistent practice, she not only regained physical strength and mobility but also cultivated a profound mind-body connection. She is passionate about sharing this transformative experience with others, guiding them towards a deeper sense of well-being and self-awareness.
