Life is Hard, Romance is Fluffy

Over the past year, I've seen an increased interest in romance novels. This makes absolute sense given how challenging 2020 has been for all of us, to say the least. Oftentimes, books serve as a comfort and refuge--a metaphorical fluffy blanket, if you will--especially when it comes to romance. Readers are often drawn to romance due to the formulaic nature of the genre. There's going to be a couple, there will be conflict and tension, but of course they're gonna get together!
