We’re seeking to hire a Richland Library Cooper Shelver!

Richland Library is seeking to hire a Shelver for our Cooper location. This person will be someone who makes sure that the cornerstone of our library – our materials – are in the hands of our customers. He/She is detail-oriented, organized, and loves to keep everything in tip-top shape. Here are some of the things you would be doing if serving in this position:

  • Ensuring that our customer experience expectations are met by guaranteeing our books, media, and music are out on the shelves, look clean and tidy, can be easily found, and are in the correct location.
  • Actively supporting the needs of the location, including shelving materials, shelf-reading, shifting the collection, straightening materials, arranging materials on booktrucks, emptying bookdrops, and searching for materials on shelves.
  • Answering directional and informational questions about the Library, including its services, materials, programs, and initiatives.
  • Performing other associated duties as required and assigned.

  • Successfully completed two years of high school.

  • Salary: $13.00 per hour
  • Hours: 15 hours per week, 5 days per week, 3 hours per day. Details to be discussed during interview.
  • (Job Classification Level 101) (FLSA Status: Non-Exempt)

    ** Richland Library may change location and schedule of any library job.

    This job involves being “on the move” in our libraries: It will include standing, walking, crouching, stooping, squatting, twisting, climbing, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
