Welcome to the Production Stage and Post Production Lab at Richland Library Main. Library cardholders can attend classes as well as complete an orientation to work independently.

• Lighting equipment (ring light, soft boxes, reflectors, etc.)

• AT2020 condenser microphone
• Digital Audio Workstations (Ableton Live, FL Studio, Reaper)
Post-Production Lab
• Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.)

Rules & Procedures:
The Production Stage and Post Production Lab are open to Richland Library cardholders 18 years and older.
• Everything must follow the library’s Code of Conduct.
• Reservations follow the general Meeting Room Policy.
• Maximum occupancy is 4 customers.
• Larger parties can request manager approval for their reservation.
• Guests may not use any equipment—computers, cameras, lights, etc.
• If something breaks, or is found broken, please immediately report it to a staff member.
• Please keep the doors closed. If you need to step out momentarily, please close the door and ask a staff member for re-entry.
**Please remember that the Post-Production Lab is a coworking space. Be courteous to your workmates—use headphones for music, step out to take phone calls.
Orientation:
All Richland Library cardholders interested in using the Production Stage or the Post-Production Lab will need to attend an orientation.
• Orientations cover available equipment; basic setup, teardown, and workflow; policies and procedures; and how to reserve the room.
• Production Stage orientation lasts approximately 30-45 minutes.
• Post-Production Lab ONLY orientation lasts 10-15 minutes.
**Orientations are not a class. We will not be teaching a skill during this time.
To schedule an orientation, please e-mail cdecker@richlandlibrary.com. Please note, wait times for orientations vary from one to two weeks depending on availability.
Reservations:
The Production Stage and Post-Production Lab are open and available to those who have gone through an orientation unless there is a program or one-on-one appointment in progress. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are the best way to guarantee the space is available at your desired time and date.
Once certified to use the space, you may reserve the Stage or PPL online or by calling 803-929-3445.

Cecil is a teaching artist providing free access to professional media tools in Columbia, SC. They teach media production and audio engineering workshops through Richland Library and the University of South Carolina. Most recently, they have worked in collaboration with the MIT Media Lab’s Public Library Innovation Exchange to help youth and adults explore creative coding through Scratch and micro:bits.
