Song and rhyme flowed at St. Andrews with over 15 performers taking the stage.
With Rasheen Richardson and John Wright as hosts, St. Andrews celebrated the talent in our community with poets, singers, and visual artists--a genre of talent St. Andrews is striving to include and recognize in what is normally an auditory experience. This was the first time we highlighted a visual artist. Two of Shabazz's paintings are included throughout the slideshow below, but more of his works were scattered around St. Andrews's Meeting Space, encouraging thoughtful conversations between the artist and the audience. Last but not least, featured performer Katera rocked the house with her original songs "In Love with the DJ," "Superhero," and more spanning various genres. Even her cover of Michael Jackson was well-done and had the audience dancing! And you know we had free food. We got you.
Open Mic Night at St. Andrews is a great stage to practice performing and gain exposure in your community. If you have any questions about the event, please call us at (803) 772-6675. And remember to check out future events!
