AiR Presents: Creating Comics - A Deep Dive with Chuck Brown

Join award-winning comic book author and Richland Library Artist-in-Residence Chuck Brown in this informative workshop series for budding comic book creators.
Participants will enjoy this unique opportunity to work in a small group setting with a comic book creator, diving deep into the inner workings of comic book creation. Each week will focus on something different - from secrets of the industry, to writing, to finding a healthy work/life balance.
Registration for each workshop is required.
Session 1: 2/12 Secrets of the comic industry and how to navigate it
Session 2: 3/11 Balancing family, day jobs, and creating comics (and other art forms)
Session 3: 3/25 How to format and write a comic book script
Session 4: 4/22 How to assemble your comic book team
Session 5: 5/6 Breaking into comics as a writer
Session 6: 5/20 Bridging the age gap between Manga and the American comics industry.(For TEENS only)
Chuck Brown is an Eisner and multiple Ringo-winning writer, creator of On the Stump and Flawed, and co-creator of Bitter Root, which is being adapted as a live-action film by Legendary Films, produced by Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Evans, and Sev Ohanian.
Chuck has written The Punisher, Wolverine, and Black Panther comics for Marvel and Superman, Black Manta, and Aquaman for DC comics. He’s currently writing Disney Villains for Dynamite Entertainment.
