Richland Library offers a full range of benefits to salaried employees that support employees, spouses and their children. These benefits include:

Our Medical plan options give employees the choices to select the right health care coverage for you and eligible family members. We offer health, vision and dental coverage for all full-time employees. Employees can also choose from various non-standard plans, with employees paying the additional premium through payroll deductions. These benefits are also available for eligible dependents, with costs shared between the Library and employee.
OTHER TYPES OF INSURANCE COVERAGE
We offer several programs that provide tax advantages, including Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Medical Spending Accounts, Dependent Daycare Accounts, and pre-tax insurance premium payroll deductions. All administrative costs for these plans are FREE to the employee.
MEDICAL ADVICE LINE
Employees have 24/7/365 access to visit with a doctor faster wherever you are via smartphone, tablet or computer. Doctors will diagnose and write prescriptions as appropriate.
The Library contributes more than a 100% match to the employee’s required contribution to the South Carolina Retirement System. Employees can also contribute to additional voluntary tax-deferred retirement savings plans, including TIAA and South Carolina Deferred Compensation Plan through payroll deductions. The Library also offers FREE Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance with the option to purchase additional coverage, along with FREE Short Term and Long Term Disability Insurance.

FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE (FMLA)
The Library offers a combination of paid and unpaid time off job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons with continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave.

Free parking is generally available for employees at our branch libraries; with the exception of Richland Library Main (1431 Assembly Street).

CELEBRATION, APPRECIATION AND PLAY
We know that our employees need a chance to unwind and recharge. Science tells us that play makes us smarter and reduces stress. Play helps us to get to know our colleagues better and can be fun. We offer break rooms and employee lounge areas to play games, workout, read or just relax.
We have unique offerings such as lactation and mother's rooms, onsite gym and shower at our Main location, bike racks and green bikes as well as flexible work schedules.
