We're providing an opportunity for local residents to be civically engaged by chatting with members of Richland County Council.
Get to know Councilmember Overture Walker, who represents District 8, and learn more about what's happening in Richland County. It's your chance to have a one-on-one conversation, ask questions and share concerns.
Call the Richland County Clerk of Council's Office at 803-576-2068 and secure your spot ahead of time, or visit our Sandhills location on the designated date and sign up for an individual meeting. Each meeting is slated for 10 minutes.

Overture Walker represents District 8, which runs from the northern portion of Forest Acres through Arcadia Lakes and Northeast Richland as far north as Lake Carolina and Long Creek. Walker has 15 years of experience as a legal professional, having served as municipal court judge, city prosecutor and assistant city attorney for the City of Columbia, as well as assistant public defender for Richland County. He now serves as a small-business owner and founder of Stoney & Walker LLC, which has law offices in Columbia and Charleston.
Walker is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law and served as an intern for former Democratic Gov. Jim Hodges. He has been a resident of Richland County for more than 30 years and is active in the community, serving on the boards of the S.C. Appleseed Legal Justice Center and the Columbia Housing Development Corp.
Walker is married to Sharon DuPree Walker. They are the proud parents of a daughter who attends public school in Richland District Two.
