Opening Reception and Keynote Event: NY Times Journalist Roger Cohen
Sunday, July 16, 2023 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Join us as we celebrate the opening of the exhibition Americans and Holocaust, brought to us by the American Library Association and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.
We are thrilled to welcome award-winning New York Times journalist Roger Cohen, author of the recently published “An Affirming Flame: Meditations on Life and Politics,” who will serve as the exhibition’s keynote speaker. He will highlight the role of the press in times of conflict and crisis (based on his career as a foreign correspondent), American soldiers and their treatment in WWII (based on his book Soldiers and Slaves), and the politics of Holocaust memory (based on his experiences in columns about present-day Lithuania). A book signing will follow the presentation.
6:30 -7:15 p.m. Reception
7:15 -8:15 p.m. Presentation
8:15 -9:00 p.m. Book signing.
This keynote address will be live-streamed. CLICK HERE to watch from home.
