Age Ready - Understanding Dementia

A comprehensive exploration into Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, tailored specifically for older adults and their caregivers. It aims to provide a deep understanding of these conditions, covering topics such as early signs, progression stages, and effective management strategies. Participants will gain valuable insights into the latest research and treatments, as well as practical advice for daily caregiving, and local support resources.
This program will be presented by Dr. Shaun Owens and Mike Leonard, of the Healthy Aging Research and Technology (HART) Lab at USC with special guest Dr. Jean Neils-Strunjas, the department chair for the USC Communication Sciences and Disorders. In addition, Jean is the director of The Aging Gracefully Lab which focuses on how exercise and social engagement improve cognition and reduce the risk of mental and physical health problems.
