Friends' Summer Learning Challenge

Sign Up June 1 - August 17

We are pleased to introduce something new for the summer of 2014—the Richland Library Friends’ Summer Learning Challenge.

In many ways, the Summer Learning Challenge will operate like the reading clubs of the past.  You’ll still be rewarded for reading but now you can also earn rewards for what you create and experience at your library! This means you’ll get credit for reading, coming to programs or other events, or designing and following your own learning track. Ready to start learning? Find a Summer Learning Track or develop your own.

Looking for your school's summer reading list?

We hope you’ll join us and challenge yourself to learn every day this summer.

Children, teens, and adults can participate in the Friends' Summer Learning Challenge between June 1 and August 17, 2014. Sign up below or stop by any library location and tell them you want to challenge yourself to learn!

The Summer Learning Challenge is open to everyone

  • Read-to-Me (for babies and young children)
  • Children (for children who are reading on their own up to age 12)
  • Teens (for ages 12-18)
  • Adults (18+)

You can use the same links to log into your learning record. Once completed, simply return your learning record to any Richland Library location throughout the summer and claim your prize! Children will also be presented with a special medal to celebrate their success!

Summer reading is important business at Richland Library! We know that reading is the basis for strong learning and that learning is what we want to support for our curious community members of all ages. - Tony Tallent, Director of Literacy and Learning
