Disinformation began in 1996 as a website devoted to all things underground. Aired BY UK television station Channel 4 in 2002, the four original shows were subsequently purchased by the Sci-Fi Channel but never aired in America. With topics ranging from artists with visions of hallucinogenic private Hells, Satanism, "outsider" music, international conspiracies, and extreme pornography, Disinformation simultaneously celebrated and deconstructed the very notion of truth, and gave underground individuals a forum in which to voice their grumblings. No punchline. No knowing nod or wink to the audience to indicate if it was all a joke or not. The second disc is four and one-half hours of the longest non-linear lecture series ever attempted, from the Disinfo.Con held at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom on February 19, 2000.
