Join us as we kick off this jubilant celebration of African-American history, contributions and culture. Featuring The Magic of Houdini, Keeping Your Kids Mentally Fit in Today's World, and Teen Talk: The Youth Perspective.
On stage for this day long kick-off to Black History Month 2021:
10:30 - 11:30 a.m. The Magic of Houdini -- Be mystified by African-American magician, mentalist and escape artist Houdini
12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Keeping Your Kids Mentally Fit in Today's World -- Richland Library's social work team and a local teacher discuss simple techniques to teach your children how to exercise to build mental muscles to stay mentally fit.
6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Teen Talk: The Youth Perspective -- A candid conversation with Teens about how Covid-19, the current racial tension environment and the new norm from 2020 have impacted their mental well-being and how they are coping with it. Hosted by Briana T. Ford, YouTuber and Taurus Sanders, Mental Health Specialist.
