Augusta Baker's Dozen
Held each April, this two-day event honors the life and work of the late Augusta Baker, an influential author, librarian, and storyteller, by introducing children to the magic of stories and the art of traditional storytelling.
Augusta Baker’s Dozen, a two-day storytelling festival celebrating the legacy of influential author, librarian, and storyteller Augusta Baker, returns for its 40th year. This annual tradition brings the community together through story, conversation, and shared experiences for all ages.

Natalie Daise, storyteller, artist, singer, actor, and author of Okra Stew: A Gullah Geechee Family Celebration, is our special guest. Darion McCloud, actor, director and children's literacy advocate, is our featured storyteller. A book signing will follow!
